- After moving to the Flagstaff area the week before Christmas, 2012, it's only taken Alex and me 3 years to get into the northern Arizona hiking scene. Well, grad school is notorious for taking up all of one's time. On July 3, 2015, we set our first feet on the Arizona Trail. We've made many pronouncements of "things we're going to do" that never quite get done. Hike across the US, hike the Appalachian Trail, hike El Camino de Santiago... Other little adventures always seem to get in the way...teaching in Honduras, graduate school, occasional bouts of working... The AzT seems do-able, especially since the northern portion is just beyond our backdoor. This blog is our chronicle of our new adventure - our test at accomplishing one of the great hikes that we claim to want to do.
